Hello Hello. HIHI

Pulchowk Campus (PUL)

Tribhuvan University consists of various faculties and institutes, including the Institute of Engineering. The Institute of Engineering comprises five constituent campuses and ten affiliated private colleges. Pulchowk Campus holds the position of central campus of the Institute of Engineering. Established in 1972 (2029 B.S.), the Pulchowk Campus is located in the heart of Lalitpur City at Pulchowk. It was originally established to produce trade-level manpower to meet the nation’s engineering needs. Since 1973 (2030 B.S.), the campus offered diploma-level (intermediate, three-year duration) courses in various engineering disciplines, although these diploma courses have since been phased out. Pulchowk Campus has been offering bachelor’s degree programs in various engineering disciplines since 1984 (2041 B.S.).

Prior to 1984 (2041 B.S.), Pulchowk Campus primarily focused on training low- to mid-level engineering professionals in the fields of Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Architecture. However, in response to the increasing demand for higher-level engineering professionals, both nationally and globally, the campus introduced a four-year bachelor’s program in Civil Engineering in 1984. This was followed by bachelor’s programs in Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering in 1994 (2051 B.S.), Mechanical Engineering and Architecture in 1995 (2052 B.S.), and Computer Engineering in 1998 (2055 B.S.). These Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programs were the first of their kind in Nepal.

Today, Pulchowk Campus offers bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. programs in various engineering disciplines, with English as the medium of instruction at all academic levels.

Pulchowk campus is well equipped with necessary laboratories with great strength of faculties and staff. Separate buildings for academic and administrative purposes have become the center of excellence of engineering education in Nepal.

Pulchowk Campus has been awarded the “Best Constituent Campus Award” by the Nepal Government, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in 2019 and 2023.

Pulchowk Campus was Accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) Nepal in 2020.

Paschimanchal Campus (PAS)

Pokhara is not only a famous tourism destination but also an academic hub. It has many prestigious educational institutes students from different parts of Nepal have gathered to seek knowledge and learn technology. Scholars from different parts of Nepal as well as overseas are contributing to the academic endeavors of Pokhara. Paschimanchal Campus is one of the leading institutions of this area. It is an institution of national and international renown.

The scenic Paschimanchal Campus, formerly also known as Western Region Campus (WRC), is located in the northern part of mega-scenic city of Pokhara. It enjoys the continuous roaring music of Seti River flowing nearby and the heavenly view of Machhapuchchhre and many other mountains of Annapurna range. Campus is surrounded by many green hills and the greenery inside the campus itself is envy for anyone.

The establishment of Paschimanchal Campus under the Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University can be considered as a revolutionary step towards meeting the demand of technical manpower in the field of engineering for the development of the nation.
Paschimanchal Campus is located about 200km west of Kathmandu. It spreads on 312 ropanis of land in a scenic section of Pokhara valley in the Western Development Region of Nepal. Paschimanchal Campus was established with assistance from the World Bank and UNDP/ILO. It became operational from 1987. Initially, various trade and technician courses were offered along with diploma (overseer) level courses. At present, it is offering bachelor level courses in Civil, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Geomatics, Computer and Automobile engineering. In the academic year 1999/2000 the first BE program in Civil Engineering was launched. Later in various time schedule it extended other bachelors’ program. In the year,2015 Masters program started. Today we have all together 5 Master’s program in various department namely M.Sc. in Communication and Knowledge Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering and Management, Distributed Generation, Rock and Tunnel Engineering and Geospatial Engineering. We are proud to state that our students have shown encouraging performances and has achieved excellent academic records and they have shown their skills in many extra-curricular activities too.
